Avadedra's World

Greetings and Salutations!

My name is Avadedra, but you can just call me Ava. I suppose you're wondering just who is writing all of this horrible fiction. Well, here I am!

As of this writing, I'm 24 years old. I've been writing in general since I was 11 or 12, and I've been writing yaoi since I was... oh my... 17, I think. It began with "Lord of the Rings" slash when I was in high school and my first year of college, and after taking a yaoi hiatus for four years, it began again with my JRock craze. For me, though, it's not just about "Oh, they're having SEX!" This type of writing is... an art.

I write for many reasons. I do it because it's a stress relief, or because I have a creative thought process that has no other way of escape. Sometimes, I do it because it's my escape. It's my way of getting out and away from the norm. When real life starts to get to me, I can simply vanish into a world of my own choosing and design.

I've run into people who, upon learning what I write, go "Oh wow. That's just sick. Two men having sex. That's horrible." Honestly, I'd rather write about two men than, say, two women, or a man and a woman. For me, yaoi, gay slash... it's not as messy. And I mean that in a literal and a contextual sense. There's not as many emotions involved as in a yuri coupling, nor is there as much... well, you know... as in a het coupling. Call me lazy, but that's just how I feel.

Besides, Mary Sue's bother me. >__<

I'll write as long as I have readers. And probably once my readers are gone. It's just the way of things, I suppose. I won't change who and what I am. But you, dear reader... thank you. Thank you for being you, for reading, and for writing. And thank you most of all for stopping by.
